Abstract

The article touches upon the fact that the teaching of political English should be based on the person-centered approach where the selection, classification, elaboration and introduction of the language material are based on the students' need to learn English for specific purposes. In this case, particular importance is given to studying and taking into account the students’ needs, interests and demands. In the process of teaching political English it is advisable to use authentic language material, as their content is derived from the needs, interests and real life of the learners.
