Abstract
The faults of present finishing method for carpenters' gimlet (screw auger) are the deformation of spiral edge by grinding, the formation of scale on induction screw and the colouring on edge parts by quenching, etc. After the preliminary experiment, we succeed in eliminating the above faults as well as in increasing the anti-corrosivity and sharpness by applying electrolytic polishing as final finishing. This report states about (1) trial manufacture of apparatus for mass production (2) various data of experiments (3) producing quantity and cost, for the purpose of industrialization of this method and clarifies that electrolytic polishing is industrially a proper method.
