Abstract

The paper aims to identify specificity of children’s literature development in China in the 1920-1930s. The article clarifies the role of Bing Xin, Ye Shengtao, Lu Xun in children’s literature formation, analyses influence of the social-political situation on their creative work, reveals originality of these pieces of literature. Scientific originality of the study lies in the fact that the researcher tackles the problem which has not been previously investigated in the Russian sinology - children’s literature created after the “May Fourth Movement”. The conducted analysis allows concluding that Bing Xin, Lu Xun and Ye Shengtao were fathers of children’s literature in China.
