Abstract

The sustainable socio-economic development of Kyrgyzstan is based on agriculture and the rational use of natural resources. Agriculture in Kyrgyzstan, which was in crisis during the post-Soviet transition period, caused significant damage to the environment. The purpose of the article is to study the historical aspects of the formation of state policy on environmental protection in the agricultural sector of independent Kyrgyzstan. The article examines the impact of agriculture on the environment, as well as the process of forming a regulatory framework for environmental protection in agriculture from 1991 to 2010. During the years of independence of Kyrgyzstan, as part of the implementation of the state policy on environmental protection in agriculture, a number of agroecological laws and concepts have been developed. The source base of the article was the legal acts, national concepts, and programs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
