Abstract

Literary-artistic, historical-local lore almanac Zhaivir played an important role in the creation of the information environment in Brzezany re gion in the first two decades of independence of Ukraine, setting the reference point in the field of cultural and national-educational work. Even now, there is no thorough research of the phenomenon of this issue, which involved hundreds of authors and thousands of grateful readers. The objective of the article is to review the collection of this almanac, which is stored in the Brzezany Museum of Local Lore: release dates (from 1990 to 2008), editors, publishers, periodiсity, topics, headings, format, editions and authors. This is the most complete collection of Zhaivir (over 80 releases). By reviewing and reading individual issues information was analysed about: authors, topics, periodicity, format, periodicity was analyzed, which was recorded in the relevant worksheets. Special issues and appendixes are analyzed and described separately. Museum documentation was also reviewed. The results of the study are incorporated into spreadsheet (year of publication, number, title or topic of special issues and applications), named the most popular rubrics, and dozens of authors. The article about the almanac Zhaivir was included in the catalog «Periodicals of Brzezany region for 30 years of independence of Ukraine (1991–2021) in the funds of Brzezany Museum of Local Lore». The collection of the almanac Zhaivir is a good source of information about the life of Brzezany region, which is often referred to by scientists and local historians, just venerators of the recent past of the region and not only. Wide range of topics of publications, a large number of authors of various specialties, famous and less-known works, many local lore discoveries make the almanac relevant. This article could be the beginning of a deeper study of the phenomenon of Zhaivir almanac – the creation of a complete description of all numbers: numeration, frequency and dates of releases, places of printing, circulation; representation of names and geographies; brief information about publishers, editorial board, authors, artists, patrons. If this description will be sent to various libraries and other scientific institutions, it would be a good reference point and tool for researchers.
