Abstract

The article provides the historiographical analysis of ideological content and opportunism as the basic components of the political culture of the representatives of the Siberian branch of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party. After analysing the domestic literature of the 1920s - the first half of the 1930s the author has identified that the problem of the ideological and political orientation of the Siberian social democracy of the First Russian Revolution period is insufficiently investigated. The paper reveals the reasons for prejudiced interpretation of the opportunism phenomenon in the Siberian branch of the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party and concludes about negative consequences of the state interference into the process of studying the regional social democratic movement just at the initial stage of the Soviet historiography.
