Abstract

The article is devoted to a detailed and comprehensive description of specialization, key performance indicators and physical condition of evacuation hospital № 1515, largest in the Krasnoyarsk region which was deployed during the great Patriotic war in the city of Krasnoyarsk, where professor V. F. Voino-Yasenetsky (St. Luka), a world renowned surgeon worked. The author noted the official position of the exiled V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky with consideration of recently identified information on the status of the doctor-surgeon, head of the medical Department of the hospital. The author laid out information on the features and diversity of the operations, as well as the evidence of some unique scientific experiments, done by V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky, the results of which were important for military field surgery in the Soviet Union. Since most of the information is given in the article for the first time, they greatly complement articles of the military period of life and work of V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky and hospital № 1515. The study can be useful to historians doing research in the field of health care during the second world war, as well as studying the life and work of V. F. Voyno-Yasenetsky.
