Abstract

The mechanism of cross-border cooperation (CBC) impact on the development of integration processes is revealed. The possibilities of using the CBC forms on the external borders of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) are analyzed via the experience of European and Chinese CBC models. It has been proven that effective CBC contributes to the expansion of integration processes, increases the efficiency of cross-border resources use, creates prerequisites for the neutralization of border conflicts, and increases the economic security of the regional economic integration. Promising aspects of the CBC mechanism’s improvement on the EAEU external borders are identified, which are: harmonization of the EAEU member countries’ views relating to this mechanism; the creation of a single platform for consolidating legal and analytical information; exchanging experience in implementing CBC programs. Promising directions for the CBC forms’ development at the EAEU external borders are identified.
