Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of the state of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia. The role of small and medium-sized businesses in the economic security of the country is shown. A quantitative analysis of the academic literature on the subject under consideration is carried out. The strategic initiatives of the state to improve the efficiency of this sector are analyzed. Based on the results of sociological surveys published in open sources, the factors that hinder the development of small and medium-sized businesses in Russia are identified. China’s experience in improving the efficiency of the development of small and medium-sized businesses has been studied.
