Abstract

The current research aims to find out: 1- the academic achievement of the third grade students is average in physics. 2- The average of differences in the academic achievement of third-grade students in physics according to the gender variables. The researcher relied on the correlative descriptive approach and identifies the current research with students from the third grade in the middle and secondary government day schools within the zone of AlShamia General Directorate of Education for the academic year 2020-2021, and the size of the research sample was (300) male and female students, and they were assigned to be chosen and deliberately selected from the research community. The researcher prepared tool to achieve the objectives of the research, The device is the achievement test, which consists of (45) items, including (40) items for the multiple-type test and (5) essay questions items, and the apparent validity and content validity were verified, the difficulty coefficient and discrimination coefficient were extracted, the effectiveness of the wrong alternatives to the test items, and the calculation of its stability is based on the equation of (Kyord_Richard Son). The two search tools were applied in the first course of the academic year 2020-2021, and statistical analysis and processing of the data was carried out using the SPSS statistical package and the Excel program. The results reached the following: 1- Third-grade intermediate students have good academic achievement 2- There are statistically significant differences at the significance level (0.05) in the achievement test according to the gender variable, and they were in favor of males.
