Abstract

General tsunami evacuation drills designate evacuation routs, areas such as school facilities and schedule of roll-call, soup-kitchen and fire-fighting exercises. However, in actual evacuation, the appropriate area is to be selected individually as conditions evolve. This paper is to explain a new tsunami evacuation exercise method which has no designated area and the conclusions obtained from actual practices and verification: 1) Active Learning efficiency such as reconsideration of evacuation area originated from not being designated where to evacuate is confirmed. 2) Many participants evacuated to appropriate areas, on the other hand there are some who chose inappropriate areas. 3) Evacuation Drill participation rate must be improved.
