Abstract

The foundations of the development of hospitality enterprises, which are an important driver of the development of the modern national economy of Ukraine, are considered. Hospitality enterprises, as an element of the structure of tourism, are one of the constituent sources of income to the budget, and also form the image of the country, serving foreign tourists. Correct management of the hospitality sector increases its profitability, which positively affects the efficiency of development without a developed hotel base. Entrepreneurial activity in the field of hospitality provides a significant contribution to the economy of the state, creates additional jobs and creates the image of the state. Today, the market of the hospitality industry is represented by many means and forms of accommodation that can satisfy customers' various needs and opportunities: hotels, international chains, motels, departmental hotels, boarding houses, sanatoriums, club rooms, boutique hotels, beach hotels, guest houses, mini- hotels, hostels, tourist camps, boats, flotillas, bungalows, campsites, tourist bases, private houses and cottages and much more. The main indicators of the activity of accommodation facilities in Ukraine for the period 2018–2020 indicate an increase in indicators during 2019, compared to 2018, but due to the pandemic, these indicators decreased significantly in 2020. Due to wartime, information for 2021 is not available on the website of the Main Statistics Office of Ukraine, so it is not included in the information tables. The main goal of the hospitality industry is profit, which is directly dependent on the quantity and quality of services provided. Every enterprise in the hospitality industry strives to increase the volume of its services and is faced with a barrier – the presence of fierce competition on the market. The real success of hotels always requires new, completely unique ideas. Competition is the highest stimulating factor for the discovery of fresh innovative ideas. Unconditional in this case is the following principle of successful business: what was invented today is no longer relevant today. The field of hospitality in Ukraine acquaints tourists with the historical and cultural heritage of the peoples who lived in the territory of the country, which in turn positively affects the establishment of mutual understanding between Ukraine and other countries in the world, which serves as a means of international relations. Rapid changes in the hospitality industry require new impulses to strengthen their positions in the competition, because the use of only reserves lying on the surface is not a guarantee of stable income, operation and development of the business. The hotel enterprise's analysis, research and use of current global business trends affects the improvement of service quality, competitiveness, image and reputation of hospitality enterprises, makes it attractive and unique for customers.
