Abstract
The article analyzes the specifics of the constitutional responsibility of election commissions. The correlation of constitutional and electoral responsibility is analyzed. It is concluded that there is a comprehensive responsibility that has features of both constitutional and electoral responsibility. The existence of a complex dual mechanism for bringing to the constitutional responsibility of election commissions, including both judicial mechanisms and mechanisms implemented within the system of election commissions, is emphasized. Finally, there is a breadth of responsibility measures that is not characteristic of any other subjects, except for election commissions.
