Abstract

The competent approach has been characterized as giving us an opportunity to form a future specialist, who is able to act both in standard and non-standard situations of their professional activity. It has been determined that formation of future Ukrainian language and Literature teachers’ punctuative competence is performed during their studying of normative professional subjects, especially “Ukrainian language practice” and “Modern Ukrainian language” (part “Syntax”). Basic textbooks and educational books on syntax of modern Ukrainian language for high schools have been analyzed and as the result the conclusion has been made that modern scientists pay insufficient attention to the problem of the punctuation. The expediency of using the developed methodology of punctuative analysis of a sentence as the basis for the formation of future Ukrainian language and Literature teachers’ punctuative competence during their studying of normative professional subjects have been substantiated. The attention has been focused on the expediency of performing the punctuative analysis of a sentence simultaneously with its syntactic analysis, which gives us an opportunity to systematize and to form punctuative skills what’s more to realize the correlation between syntactic structures and their corresponding punctuative formation by future Ukrainian language and Literature teachers. One of the main aims of the suggested punctuative analysis is to follow the function of the punctuative units according to their determinative principles such as structural, semantic and intonational. Besides, it’s important and necessary to analyze the functions of the punctuative unit in the given sentence. It has been determined that the proposed methods of punctuative analysis of a sentence gives us an opportunity to explain even difficult cases so called unusage of punctuative marks and to substantiate the author's punctuation. The method of scientific observation of the educational process proves that the given methods of punctuative analysis of a sentence are becoming the reliable basis for the formation of future Ukrainian language and Literature teachers’ punctuative competence.
