Abstract

Abstract. The research purpose is to investigate the ionic composition of the central and peripheral facets of oral fluid converted into the solid phase using the wedge diagnostics method. Materials and methods. The research was conducted at the Research Institute of Nanotechnology and Nanomaterials at Derzhavin Tambov State University with a JCM-7000 NeoScope™ Benchtop Scanning Electron Microscope. Results. We study composition of saliva, conduct a comparative analysis for individuals with allergic rhinitis receiving glucocorticoid treatment and those without such treatment, in comparison to healthy individuals. Composition of saliva in individuals with allergic rhinitis receiving treatment is nearly identical to the composition of saliva in healthy individuals, unlike those individuals without treatment. Elevated calcium levels in the marginal zone were detected in the mixed saliva of individuals with allergic rhinitis without glucocorticoid treatment. Conclusions. The results of the study have revealed the potential to diagnose otorhinolaryngological diseases without invasive interventions and have also demonstrated the effectiveness of treating allergic rhinitis with corticosteroid-based medications.
