Abstract

The aim of this study is to develop a program suitable for reducing the stress of juvenile probationers, verify the effectiveness, and seek a measure to operate the effective program continuously. As a result of literature research and desire examination for program development, the need to include their own desires, interests, and fun activities in addition to their parents, friends, and economics is identified. Based on this result, the tea-culture therapy program for juvenile probationers was developed. The program is composed of 8 sessions, and each session is a total of 60 minutes followed by 10 minutes introduction, 40 minutes interventions, and 10 minutes to share thoughts. It was designed for juvenile probationers who were attending P city probation office. The effectiveness was
verified through evaluating the difference of pre and post stress scale score of participants. The result showed that the pre score average was 77.7 (SD3.3), and the post score average was 74.9 (SD3.23). This verifies a significant difference between before and after the program. Namely, the degree of stress of juvenile probationers
participated in the tea-culture therapy program has decreased statistically significantly. Therefore, the tea-culture therapy program has been found to be effective in reducing stress for various difficulties that juvenile probationers have. Accordingly, it is recommended that the program continue for them so as to foster emotional stability and reduce stress and improve communication within the family.
