The article gives a brief description of the applied innovative technologies in crop and livestock industries. The main directions hindering the development and introduction of new high-performance agricultural machinery are outlined. On concrete examples and research results in the agro-industrial complex of the Sverdlovsk region, it is shown which age groups of machine operators who graduated from various educational institutions and courses prefer to work on one or another technique, how quickly they adapt to ultra-modern technology. The qualitative composition of the mechanical personnel has been specified. Specific recommendations are given on the formation of the machine and tractor fleet and the establishment of the optimal life of tractors.
