Abstract

This article describes the main ways of expressing mistrust in information received from third parties, based on the material of modern German and Russian languages. Despite the calls of thinkers to produce extremely truthful information, there is a regular deviation from these slogans in communication. However, the speaker has in his arsenal the means to express distrust of information of such a plan. We are talking about the conjunctiva, the infinitive constructions of the modal verbs sollen and wollen in the secondary function and the modal word angeblich in the German language, while in the Russian language we can talk about constructions with modal speech particles мол, дескать, де, якобы.
