Abstract
We have developed two systems called BIOREM and FILCERA. BIOREM is combined with activated sludge treatment system and tank submerged type ceramic membrane filtration system. Membrane modules are stacked in the aeration tank, and diffusers in the bottom are cleaning the membrane surface by circulating air bubbles.The membrane module is bringing together multiple external pressure tubular type ceramic membrane elements of an asymmetric two layer structure. The MLSS is holded about 15, 000 mg/l, so aeration tank needs smaller volume and the system can get along without sedimation tank and outside membrane space. The system was authorized by the Minister of Construction. The 100 m3/day plant is running now to treat the domestic sewage.FILCERA is combined with coagulation system and tank submerged type ceramic membrane filtration system for water purification. Becuse there is no need for phsical pretreatment to reduce turbidity, the system is simple and compact. Maintenance is also easy.
