Abstract

Despite the fact that historical sources provide accurate information about the number of Russian soldiers who died on the Kulikovo field (250 thousand people), most researchers consider them to be exaggerated, and the battle was an insignificant event. As an argument, the opinion is given that it was not physically possible to place a huge mass of people on the Kulikovo field. Analysis of the entire set of materials shows the correctness of the sources. It turns out that the battle took place about 50 km from the generally accepted place, in the upper reaches of the Nepryadva River. The graves of the dead soldiers are also found here.
