Abstract

This study intends to contribute to expanding woman`s life sports base and the improvement of housewives` life with life sports who are busy with household chores and child care by examining the effect of physical self-concept on psychological happiness and life satisfaction. It has been performed aimed at 384 housewives who currently live in Daejeon and have continuously participated in life sports activities more than 5 years at a sports center and the results are as follows. First, concerning the differences in physical self-concept depending on participatory characteristics of housewives, body fat, appearance, health, physical activities and self-esteem are meaningfully different according to participatory frequency. In addition, appearance, health, physical activities and self-esteem are meaningfully different according to participatory time. Second, regarding the differences in psychological happiness and life satisfaction of housewives who have participated in life sports, all the factors such as commitment, happiness and life satisfaction are meaningfully different. Third, as for the effect of physical self-concept for housewives who have participated in life sports on psychological happiness and life satisfaction, the meaningfully effective factors on commitment are body fat, health, physical activities, self-esteem and whole body. Also, the meaningfully effective factors on happiness are body fat, health, physical activities, self-esteem and those sub-factors of physical self-concept on life satisfaction are appearance, health and physical activities.
