Abstract

In order to clarify the relationship between the physical self-concept, psychological Happiness and mental health of senior participating in sports and leisure, data from 467 individuals conforming to the purposes of this study and suitable for analysis were studied. The results are as follows. First, with regards to the effect of physical self-concept of senior participating in sports & leisrue on their psychological happiness, factors such as competence in sports, health, physical activity, the state of their overall body, flexibility, endurance, strength, and appearance had a statistically significant impact on their immersion in sports. Meanwhile, factors such as competence in sports, health, physical activity, self-esteem, the state of their overall body, flexibility, endurance and strength had statistically significant effects on happiness. Second, with regards to the effect of physical self-concept of senior participating in sports & leisure on thier mental health, factors such as competence in sports, health, physical activity, self-esteem, endurance and strength had a statistically significant impact on somatization, while competence in sports, self-esteem, the state of their overall body, flexibility, endurance and body fat had statistically significant effects on interpersonal sensitivity. Factors such as competence in sports, self-esteem, the state of their overall body, endurance, strength and appearance had statistically significant effects on depression. Furthermore, competence in sports, health ,self-esteem, the state of their overall body, flexibility, endurance and strength factors significantly effect enmity, while physical activity, self-esteem, the state of their overall body, flexibility and appearance played a significant role in anxiety. Among the sub-factors of physical self-concept, health, physical activity, self-esteem, the state of their overall body, endurance, and strength showed significant influence on psychosis.
