Abstract

The relevance of research. An extremely important part of the creative process is the assessment of the level and quality of the musical work, its performance, etc. There are various forms of presentation of music material. The aim of the paper is to systematize the various forms of evaluation that are currently available in the music business of today, relating to variety. This goal involves the separation of the following tasks: determine the specifics of concert and competition events; highlight the main features of show programs that are competitive and evaluative; outline other forms that relate to the evaluation of performance in the field of variety arts. The research methodology involved the use of an analytical approach to analyze the works of modern authors on the theoretical understanding of pop culture. An analysis of the artistic practice of our time was also carried out, which included the use of a comparative method, a synthesis method. The results of the study highlight the main forms associated with the monitoring and evaluation of music activities in the field of pop culture. Musical pop culture is a field of performance that is inherently competitive. The evaluation of its results is one of the organizational forms, because for the most part the varieties of artistic practices are oriented towards a certain evaluation by the public. Different forms of presentation and evaluation of music activities are interrelated and often combined in different projects. It is emphasized that not only the professional jury but also the spectators are entertained for the variety performance. In pop culture, the commercial performance of performers, composers, and producers is quite often used, which is an integral part of this layer of music practice.
