Abstract

Background In recent decades, the number of researches, both in Russia and abroad, devoted to the problem of sticking of drill pipes and casing has increased significantly and is of undoubted interest. One of the most important ways to improve the technology of well drilling and completion is the use of highly effective lubricating additives compatible with the drilling mud components. Particularly important is to maintain a certain level of the lubricating properties of the drilling mud in constructing long directional and horizontal wells. Aims and Objectives Test the antifriction properties of different compositions of vegetable oil-based lubricants. Determine the effect of concentration of the developed experimental lubricants on the antifriction properties of biopolymer clay-free drilling mud. Cheapening of BKR-5 - based lubricating additive. Methods Lubricating properties of the drilling fluid were tested using KTK-2 apparatus. Results An optimal composition of the lubricant based on vegetable oil and BKR-5 has been developed, and the optimal concentration of the additive in biopolymer clay-free drilling fluids has been determined. The lubricating additive became cheaper due to the use of waste from production of vegetable oils and ethylene glycols.
