Abstract

The article examines problematic issues of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine. It was determined that the main problematic issues of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the military units of the National Guard of Ukraine are: partial compliance of the system for ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the National Guard of Ukraine with the state gender policy; lack of research that would study the issue of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men as a component of military social work in NGU, which may lead to deepening of the problems of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in military units of NGU; partial conformity of normative documents of NSU with the legislation of Ukraine on the issue of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men; lack of an effective mechanism for the activities of coordinators and advisers on ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men; perception of the issue of ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men in the majority as an information component; insufficient attention to the issues of education and propaganda among military personnel and employees of the National State University of Gender Equality, the spread of educational activities; stereotypical approach to the issue of family support, formation of responsible motherhood and parenthood; Absence of a system of protection of servicemen and employees of NSU from information aimed at discrimination on the basis of gender. The direction of further work on the improvement of military and social work in the National Guard of Ukraine in accordance with the requirements of the state gender policy of Ukraine has been established, namely: establishment of gender equality; prevention of discrimination based on gender; application of positive actions; prevention and counteraction of gender-based violence, including all manifestations of violence against women; ensuring equal participation of women and men in decision-making; ensuring equal opportunities for women and men regarding the combination of professional and family responsibilities; family support, formation of responsible motherhood and fatherhood; education and promotion of the culture of gender equality among military personnel and employees, the spread of educational activities in this area; protection of servicemen and employees from information aimed at discrimination based on gender; implementation by commanders and staffs within their competence of the main areas of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in the National Guard of Ukraine; ensuring the effectiveness of authorized persons in matters of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men, preventing and countering gender-based violence; implementation of practical activities of consultative and advisory bodies and advisers on issues of ensuring equal rights and opportunities of women and men, prevention and counteraction of gender-based violence; ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men in work, military service and receiving remuneration for them; ensuring equal rights and opportunities in employment, job promotion, qualification improvement and retraining; ensuring equal opportunities during the conclusion of collective agreements and agreements; conducting a gender-legal examination of normative legal acts of the National Guard of Ukraine; taking into account the principle of ensuring equal rights and opportunities for women and men during the development of projects of normative legal acts.
