Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of the study is to investigate the structural relationship between self-management, exercise commitment, and exercise adherence among triathlon club members. Specifically, the mediating effect of exercise adherence in relationship between self-management and exercise adherence was examined.BR Method: To achieve the purpose of the study, a total of 314 questionnaires were collected from triathlon Club Members. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and structural equation model analysis. The, bootstrapping method was then used to examine the mediation effect.BR Results: First and foremost, self management had a positive effect on exercise commitment. Second, exercise commitment had a positive effect on exercise adherence. Third, self-management had a positive effect on exercise adherence. Fourth, exercise commitment partially mediated the relationship between self-management and exercise adherence.BR Conclusion: The findings in the study suggest that self-management is an important precedent factor for increasing exercise adherence. It also leads to high level of immersion experience and can increase exercise adherence effectively.
