Abstract

This paper examines the Calligraphy of Honam that has been studied so far, dividing it into the Joseon period and the modern period. Calligraphers from Honam were divided into Jeonbuk and Jeonnam. Then, the genealogy was set and the current status of research on individual calligraphers was reviewed. In addition, he introduced people who were not noticed at all in the previous research and suggested complementary points as future research tasks.
I proposed the following three topics to be studied in the future. First, it is necessary to illuminate the calligraphy of Baek Kwanghoon and Baek Jinnam, who used their unique elegant and concise calligraphic style. Second, it is required to investigate basic data on the process of changing the calligraphic style of Yi Samman and the family history and calligraphy of Yi Samman group members. Third, it is necessary to study Yun Gyun and others, who is a famous writer from Honam and is not yet known to academia.
