Abstract
This article defines the concept of rural tourism, provides a brief list of opportunities realized through this type of tourism. It also analyzes and presents the positive and negative sides of rural tourism, its impact on the economy of Russia, on the development of socio-cultural relations. The program for the development of rural tourism in Russia until 2030 is presented. It offers a brief description of the Program, its goals and objectives. Also analyzed and proposed ways of implementing this program. This program will contribute to the correct and purposeful choice of solutions to problems associated with the development of rural tourism in Russia.
