Abstract

This study examined the Confucian ethics connoted in Donghak magic. Donghak magic had the characteristics of religious practice, elements of military force, and politicality of community. Donghak magic and Confucian ethics had similarities in these three aspects.
 This paper examined the relationship between Donghak magic and Confucian ethics during the Period of the Donghak missionary, during the Period of the movement vindicating the innocence of the founder of Donghak, during the Period of the Donghak Peasant War. Through this paper, it can be seen that each period had a relationship in the three aspects mentioned above.
