Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the effect of the participation motivation of overseas volunteers in the Taekwondo international development project on volunteering satisfaction. Using purposive sampling and snowball sampling from non-probability sampling methods, data was collected from 350 participants with Taekwondo international development cooperation overseas volunteering experience. The questionnaire was used as a research tool, and 33 questionnaires were excluded upon considering the legibility, completeness, consistency and integrity of the data, and a total of 317 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. Statistical analysis was conducted using the Windows version of SPSS 22.0, and multiple regression analysis was performed to analyze the effect of participation motivation on each factor. The results of the study are as follows: first, civic consciousness, which is a sub-factor of participation motivation variable, was found to have statistically significant positive effects on interpersonal relationship, continuous participation. selffulfillment, and intent for self-discovery. Second, self-growth, a sub-factor of participation motivation variable, had statistically significant positive effects on self-fulfillment and self-discovery. Third, challenge spirit, a subfactor of participation motivation variable, only had a statistically significant positive effect on continuous participation. Fourth, career development, a sub-factor of participation motivation variable, had statistically significant negative effects on continuous participation and self-discovery.
