Abstract
A mathematical model for descripotion of the fraction composition and interphase contact surface during extraction of raw plant materials in rotopulsed extractor has been developed. Differential and integrated functions of mass distribution of raw plant materials with respect to the particles size are calculated, and a function for the calculation of the surface area of particles in various fractions after extraction in each step of rotopulsed extractoris obtained. Good agreement between test and calculated results was confirmed in experimental extraction of Leonurus cardiaca herbs with soybean oil. The proposed mathematical description of the process of raw plant materials comminution during extraction in rotopulsed extractor makes possible evaluation of the fractional composition of raw plant material and the surface of contact of phases at each stage of extraction in a rotopulsed extractor and for each pass of raw material through the device may be calculated.
