Abstract
The paper aims to develop and justify methodological principles of teaching written foreign-language communication to maritime transport workers. The existing principles of foreign language teaching are analysed. The research objective is to systematize the existing didactic and methodological principles of teaching foreign-language writing, to develop new efficient principles of teaching written foreign-language communication to sailors. Scientific originality of the study involves developing special principles of teaching foreign-language written speech. The author concludes on the necessity to introduce a system of special methodological principles based on modern requirements for the sailor’s professional competence.
