Abstract
Project management methods are gaining significant practical application not only in the activities of business structures, but also in various state, regional and local government bodies. If project methods are used in commercial organizations to optimize business processes, achieve business results, reduce costs, then authorities use project methods for a more clientoriented delivery of public services to citizens as well as for transparency and flexibility of government programs and projects implementation, to carry out electoral activities, to implement central and local government procurement. In the first part of the paper, the authors define project management, highlight its main features, tools, tendencies and issues. In the second part, the researchers characterize such project methods as Agile, Scrum, Lean, Six Sigma, Kanban; give examples of their practical application in the commercial sector and in the field of public administration.
