Abstract
The article is based on the phenomena and practical teaching in the field of Chinese contemporary art education, highlights the need of design specialty in the university training course on Chinese traditional painting, as well as the educational process itself. The article also stresses the importance of clear understanding of characteristics and forms of traditional Chinese painting by students of Chinese universities.
