Abstract

The current state ofthe military­political, humanitarian situation on the section of the Ukrainian- Russian state border is analyzed, which testifies to the current and projected threats to the national security of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. It is proved that the restoration of control over the temporarily uncontrolled part of the Ukrainian-Russian state border, its reliable protection and defense are strategic priorities of Ukraine's national security policy, and ensuring Ukraine's national security in the border area is the most pressing issue. The content of current and projected threats to the national security and national interests of Ukraine, taking into account foreign and domestic conditions, is revealed. The main threats to the security of the state border, in particular on the Ukrainian-Russian section of the state border, have been identified. It was emphasized that modern state mechanisms in the field of security of the Ukrainian- Russian state border will ensure the formation of favorable political preconditions, which will be achieved by peaceful means based on the principles of international law. It is proved that state mechanisms in the field of security of the Ukrainian-Russian state border must correspond to the scale and features of current and projected threats to Ukraine's national security, be effective and fully integrated into the system of international and regional border security. The main tasks ofstate mechanisms in the field ofsecurity of the Ukrainian-Russian state border are determined. It is proved that the main factors that significantly affect the current security of the Ukrainian-Russian state border are the threats of armed provocations and military intervention by the Russian Federation, in particular, the movement of members of terrorist groups, weapons, ammunition, sabotage and terror from the territory.
