Abstract
The article presents the results of a sociological research on the relationship of students to the problem of prevention of iodine deficiency. The survey was conducted in the south of the Tyumen region on a representative sample of the female by the survey in 2012-2013. The study involved a learning institutions of primary, secondary vocational education and students of higher educational institutions in the region (n = 623). The article discusses the assessment of young people’s knowledge of methods, methods of prevention, the consequences for the human body iodine deficiency; of the behavior in the field of prevention; frequency of use of iodized salt in households of respondents. Notes the lack of awareness of students about the opportunities and the availability of methods of prevention of iodine deficiency, low proportion of daily consumption of iodi-zed salt.
