Abstract
The paper presents the current state and problems in the field of geriatric care in Ukraine. The basic needs for medical and social care among different age groups of the elderly population were studied. The study showed that geriatric practice has different characteristics of medical and social needs and requires an integrated approach involving multidisciplinary teamwork. No conflict of interests was declared by the authors.
