Abstract

Migration is a complex issue that has attracted worldwide attention in recent years. Migration is increasing due to many factors such as globalization, economic differences between countries, political instability, social conflicts, environmental problems and wars. This study was aimed at studying the factors influencing the migration of Mongols to South Korea. The survey was conducted among Mongolian citizens applying for a visa at the Consulate of South Korea, the sample consisted of 316 questionnaires. Quantitative data were processed by SPSS 23.0 and Smart PLS 3.0 programs to check the validity of metrological variables, descriptive data were calculated for each statistical variable, and correlation analysis was carried out. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was used to obtain the results. According to the results of the study, economic factors are the main factors influencing the migration of Mongolian citizens to South Korea. In other words, the outflow of citizens increases due to such economic factors as low stable income, the economic crisis, poverty, rising unemployment, the quality of medical care, and low living standards. The study also showed that socio-cultural, political and demographic factors have a significant impact on migration to South Korea, while environmental factors have little effect.
