Abstract
The complexation of rare earth elements (REE) La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm and Yb with o-phthalic acid at p = 0.2(KCI) in the temperature range 298 was studied using the potentiometric method. -328 K. In the pH region = 3.8-5, the existence of a complex particle of composition LnL was discovered, where +Ln - REE, L - SzNYUL. Based on the dependence of the stability constants of complex particles on temperature, the thermodynamic functions of the formation of complexes AG, AN and AS were calculated. Positive values of AN and AS suggested significant destruction of hydration shells and the formation of intrasphere complexes. High positive AS values indicate that phthalic acid is a bidentate ligand.
