Abstract
Scholarly publishing in Japan is now facing a time of internationalization. Here, focusing on natural science society journals in English, the present status of internationalization of scientific journals in Japan is examined and analyzed from the standpoint of publishing, with special attention given to the following points: 1) Japanese societies as publishers of scholarly journals; 2) Internationalization and the trend of natural science society journals in Japan; a) Quantative analysis; b) Renovation of scientific journals; c) Countermeasures for electronically transmitted system of scientific information.
