Abstract

In the article, the author of the story “Soldier in the Forest” from the book “How Vovka Learned Humanity” reveals the methodology of text activity. The goal of working with the text is to lead children to an understanding of the noble qualities of the heroes of the story, who tidy up the forgotten grave of a soldier who defended the Motherland in the Great Patriotic War. A scenario of a possible lesson on the surrounding world in the fourth grade based on the story “Soldier in the Forest” is given. The methodology of reading the text by younger schoolchildren, its analysis and evaluation of the narrative during the educational dialogue is discussed.
