Abstract
It is no exaggeration to say that the fruits of the 4th industrial revolution in the manufacturing industry is the smart factory. Smart factories should be classified according to production methods, production types and products. A smart factory can maximize its efficiency by applying a smart technique suitable for its characteristics. However, there is no specific classification or systematic approach yet. A smart factory is being implemented according to the field situation. In this study, the application types of smart factories suitable for the relevant industry were classified according to the production method, production type and product of the manufacturing industry. It is divided into smart factory and smart plant. Smart factories suitable for the characteristics of the manufacturing industry were classified. It is expected to increase the effectiveness by allowing smart technology suitable for the classified factories to be applied at the right time and place.
