Abstract
The survey concentrates on the analysis of CLIL and case study – two methods of foreign language teaching to the students of non-linguistic specialties, which are widely accepted in the European Union and North America. The author starts by highlighting the need of modern market in competitive specialists, implying their mastery in English as the language of international communication, along with the necessity of introducing new methods of language teaching, opposite to the traditional ones, which will correspond to the demands of the present-day process of global integration. The survey continues with the review of the modern Ukrainian and foreign studies, revealing the essence of CLIL and case study methods, as well as discussing the positive and negative sides of their implementation into the language teaching process. In the conclusion the author underlines the advantages and specifies the drawbacks of using CLIL and case study in the modern language classrooms. The study summarizes by pointing out the actuality of further research on these methods.
