Abstract

This study aims to examine and identify the effects of structural relationship among vitality, social support and quality of life for older adults who participate in physical activity. To achieve the aim of the study, a total of 313 questionnaires were collected from older adults. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS 21 and AMOS 21.0. Validity test were conducted. Descriptive statistical analysis, frequency analysis, reliability analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, structural equation model analysis and bootstrapping method were used to examine the mediation effect. The results of this study are as follows. First, vitality had a positive relationship with social support. Second, vitality did not have a significant relationship with quality of life. Third, social support had a significant relationship with quality of life. Fourth, social support had a mediating effect between vitality and quality of life. In conclusion, social support is the most important factor in improving the quality of life for older adults.
