Abstract

Treatment of children with congenital cleft lip and palate is one of the highest priority tasks of maxillofacial surgery. An analysis of the medical history of 264 children with congenital clefts who received inpatient treatment in the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery of the Osh Interregional United Clinical Hospital for 3 years (2015–2018) was carried out. The purpose of the study is to identify the frequency of concomitant diseases in children with congenital cleft lip and palate. The results of the study showed that the most common concomitant diseases were diseases of the ENT organs. Of 264 children with congenital cleft palate, diseases of the ENT organs were detected in 81 (30.6%) children. According to the nosologies of ENT diseases, the most common were adenoids, tonsillitis and otitis. Until now, insufficient attention has been paid to studying the condition of the middle ear in children with congenital cleft lip and palate at an early age, as well as at the stages of surgical treatment. In addition, the basic principles of successful treatment are an integrated approach, which includes surgical treatment of the underlying disease, as well as concomitant diseases, social and psychological rehabilitation. Performing all the main stages of surgical treatment at the age of 6 months to 20 years, which allows you to achieve the best results. Based on the data obtained, we can conclude that congenital clefts are a complex problem that requires an interdisciplinary approach and comprehensive treatment.
