Abstract
The article provides examples of the use of inductive loops of control sections for filling the tracks of the classification park of a hump yard, measurement errors are determined when using inductive loops. The geometrical characteristics of the existing types of railcars are considered. Recognition criteria are proposed and their information capacity is given. It is established that it is possible to recognize and identify railway cars by auto couplings based on the proposed criteria for the railcar length. This allows us to determine the cut length with the minimum error. The structural and schematic diagrams of the control system for filling the classification tracks have been developed. The efficiency of the hump yard has increased due to reduction in the working hours of operators and improvement in the quality of filling the classification park tracks.
