Abstract

The purpose of this study is to provide a basic data for university equestrian players’ career transition after retirement by finding out about their career transition process and analyzing their experiences in depth to explore their pedagogical values and meanings.BR The method of grounded theory method was used to achieve the purpose of this study. To achieve the purpose of this study, 7 research participants from 3 universities were selected by using theoretical sampling method. And the in-depth interviews which were conducted by 2~3 times from June 2018 to September 2018 were used as the main data. First, a total of 77 concepts, 16 sub-categories and 7 top categories were derived through open coating. Second, axial coding reveals paradigm elements of the causal conditions, the situational context, the central phenomena, intervening conditions, interaction strategies, and the consequences. Third, through the selection coding, ‘Career transition after retirement’ and ‘Pedagogical meaning’ were derived.
