Abstract

The purpose of this study was to derive problem and improvement plan for Korean professional baseball FA system through grounded theory analysis. The subjects of this study were five active baseball players, three retired athletes and leaders from professional baseball players, and two professional baseball journalists. The collected data were obtained through the process of open coding, axis coding, and selective coding. First, a total of 38 concepts, 15 sub-categories, and 6 top categories were derived through open coating. Second, axial coding reveals paradigm elements of the causal conditions, the situational context, the central phenomena, intervening conditions, interaction strategies, and the consequences. Third, through the selection coding, the development plan of the free baseball professional system of Korea professional baseball was derived. In this study, it is necessary to identify the problems of the Korea professional baseball FA system and the improvement direction in the future.
