Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the cause of the low grade in the fire sector among the regional safety indexes and to suggest improvement plans in consideration of the indicators used in the regional safety index. The current state of fire accidents over the past five years was analyzed. The causes of fires by region, season, place, and age were identified. As a result, it was found that the regional imbalance of the index value of each factor and the index grade was serious. In order to improve the regional safety index level of Chungnam-do, measures to reduce fires in 7 cities and counties in the southern region, which are vulnerable areas, are needed. It is necessary to improve the manpower allocation that reflects the correlation between the number of firefighters and the fire rescue performance. Finally, the unreasonable point of the local safety index calculation method itself needs to be improved. In order to remove the risk bias of the risk index, the fatality-centered index can be shifted to include the number of property damage and the number of injured.
