Abstract

The article examines metaphorical models for formation of evaluative metaphorical nominations of objective phenomena in the Russian language. By the example of lexemes of the pre-Slavonic etymological clusters the author shows that the basic metaphorical models of the Russian language were formed in the pre-written epoch and represented mythological nature of ancient human thinking. Scientific originality of the paper lies in the fact that the lexemes belonging to one and the same etymological cluster are for the first time examined from the viewpoint of their ability to develop secondary (metaphorical) meanings associated with one and the same semantic sphere - ethical evaluation. Such an approach can be successfully applied in linguo-culturological and linguo-cognitive studies, historical semantics studies.
